Wisconsin adidas InvitationalがThomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course（Madison,WI）で10月19日開催された。2009年にスタートしたカレッジのXC大会で、男子36校、女子37校が参加している。チャンピオンシップレースは男子８km、女子6kmで、男女とも”B”レースも開催している。チーム優勝は男子Northern Arizona、女子はArizonaだった。

NCAA D-1の2013年チャンピオンシップは11月23日にwabash Valley Family Sports Center（Terre Haute,Ind）で開催されるが、９月から10月にかけては、各地でLocal Meetingが数多く開催されている。Wisconsin adidas Invitationalは有力校を集めたプレミアム・ミーティングである。

Billabong International（本社：オーストラリア/クイーンズランド州バーレイヘッド）のエグゼクティブ離散が加速してきた。9月にBillabong EuropeのFranco Fogliato（GM）が退任したとと思ったら。今度はBillabong Americas のRichard Sanders（VP）も退任した。

もともと去年買収提案したPaul Naude（前ビラボーンUSA社長）だって、まあ言ってみれば退任である。すでに5月にはクリエイティブ・ディレクタのMondy Fryも、Volcomのウイメンズ統轄VPに移籍している。

退任の連鎖は経営トップも直撃した。再建を陣頭指揮していたLauna Inman（CEO）が７月に退任したのを皮切りに、代わってCEOに就任したScott Olivetは、なんと １カ月でNeil Fiskeと交代してしまった。Billabongの役員任期は日本の首相より短い。

驚くことはこれだけではない。８月に締結されたAltamont Capital Partnersと Blackstone Groupの３億2,500万ドルにのぼる融資は、9月になってCenterbridge Partners とOaktree Capitalのコンソーシアムによる５億4,200万ドルの協調融資に置き換えられた。結局Altamont＋Blackstone Consortiumの融資は、７月末負債償還のためのつなぎだったわけである。まったく綱渡りの事業運営であるが、

いちおう大口の返済は12月まで発生しないので、当面これで再建に邁進すると思われる。

新CEOのNiel Fiskeは「Bath and Body Works」、「Eddy Bauer」で経営手腕を評価されている。今回はよもや短期交代はないだろう。

Oracle Team USA defended the America's Cup by a score of 9 to 8. Oracle, owned by billionaire Larry Ellison and skippered by James Spithill.

「第34回アメリカスカップ」はディフェンディングチームOracle Team USA（Golden Gate Yacht Club）が優勝した。

レースは9月7〜25日にサンフランシスコ湾の5レグコースで、ディフェンダーOracle Team USA（Golden Gate Yacht Club）とチャレンジャーEmirates Team New Zealand（Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron）で戦われた。

レース８までは挑戦艇Team New Zealandの一方的なリードだったが、レース９以降にパフォーマンスを改良したOracle（ジェイムズ・スピットヒル艇長）が連覇した。Team New Zealandはレース11までに８ポイントを獲得し、優勝にあと一歩までを追いつめたが、Oracleがレース18まで８連勝して9-8で逃げ切った。

レースは前半がチャレンジャー全勝、後半はディフェンダー全勝というポイント争いになり、アメリカスカップ史上最長期間と最多レース開催記録になった。
